Stack It, Track It, Grow It.

The simple habit stacking strategy that makes consistency the default.

In partnership with

Let’s talk about it.

I’m almost baffled I haven’t spoken about this, until I realised I have, just not in detail.

Me being as consistent as I am now is due to a lot of different changes I’ve made. Slight sacrifices if you will, because of course I’d rather be playing Call of Duty or watching a new Korean series.

Instead I knew I had to implement habits. We go all in and then drop it because we expected it to be easy.

There are three different aspects to it, and it all started with habit stacking.

I wanted to briefly interrupt my rant to talk about my latest upcoming product. It’s only right you get to hear about it first.

It’s a Productivity Playbook with 6 weeks worth of content. This E-book then links to a Notion template with sections for taking action and making notes. By linking back to sections of the ebook, this allows you to see how I implement each part and then you can fill in the Notion template for your own journey.

In the first two chapters I demonstrate how to:

  • Chase three important wins a day and reshape your identity from a single passion to multiple.

  • Attach a new interest to an existing habit to build up small levels of consistency daily.

  • Apply the Decision Tree Framework to filter interests and protect your decision-making process

  • Master your time and work with your natural energy.

  • Increase and map your energy to get the most out of your work.

  • Maintain deep focus with work blocks and strategies to rotate between passions

  • Utilise habits to recharge - implementing energy-boosting rituals, quick power snacks, sleep strategies and low-energy habits

You thought that was it? There’s a lot more to come to help you overcome the overwhelm. Stay peeled.

Back to it.

When I first tried to juggle my multiple passions, my days felt like a scramble between fitness, language learning, travel planning, and writing.

I'd make excuses or spend too much unnecessary time on one thing.

Travel planning shouldn't have taken me hours. I could have written some threads in that time.

I'd say I would write a newsletter but I'd be staring at a blank page for hours, coming out with a paragraph.

I spent hours socialising at the football pitch after the game was done; I started understanding that I needed to prioritise other things.

The breakthrough came when I discovered habit stacking—not just as a productivity hack, but as the architectural framework for a multi-passionate life.

1.Single Stack Methodology

I started to pair up one existing routine with one new tiny habit from any passion area.

The magic lies in its simplicity:

After [CURRENT HABIT], I will do [NEW TINY HABIT].

  • After preparing my morning coffee, I'll review my Arabic lesson notes.

  • While getting ready for gym/football, I'll brainstorm three thread content ideas.

  • After setting my phone down for the night, I'll do 20 push-ups.

The key insight I discovered was choosing anchor moments with matching energy states.

A high-energy anchor (morning shower) pairs naturally with an energetic habit (squat jumps), while a contemplative anchor (evening tea) pairs with reflective habits (notes or journaling).

This all might sound crazy technical to you, but essentially I wouldn't do burpees or read flashcards while driving to the office.

It's what works for you.

But I found lighter tasks are better paired up with existing routines, so it gives me a baseline at the start to essentially remember to allocate some time to that interest.

When I matched my language practice to my existing gym cool-down routine, consistency suddenly became effortless because I was working with my natural flow rather than against it.

2.Double Stack Methodology

Once single stacks become automatic (typically 2-3 weeks), the double stack creates a cross-pollination between your passions:

After [CURRENT HABIT], I will [TINY HABIT FROM PASSION A] while [INCORPORATING ELEMENT OF PASSION B].

For example:

  • After my morning alarm, I'll do 5 push-ups while naming the muscles in French

  • After boiling the kettle, I'll listen to a Quran recitation while doing calf raises

  • After opening my laptop, I'll write one sentence about my fitness progress in my target language

These double stacks create neural bridges between passion areas that start to change how my brain processes information.

I aim for each passion to enhance the other.

The breakthrough moment for me came when these stacks stopped feeling like separate activities and started feeling like different expressions, complimenting each other.

My language learning improved my writing precision, my fitness discipline enhanced my language consistency, and my travel experiences deepened my perspective across everything.

Once you get into a rhythm with your interests, the habit stacks help to further incorporate the foundation. The progress tracking can come after.

3.Progressive stacking systems

We're at the next level.

The formula evolves from static to dynamic:

After [CURRENT HABIT], I will [TINY HABIT] + [PROGRESSIVE ELEMENT]

I started this part with baby steps. I wanted to ensure whatever I was doing was helping me grow with daily/weekly increases in progress.

The progressive element follows specific patterns:

  • The Plus-One Principle: Add one more rep, word, minute, or degree of difficulty each week.

  • Week 1: After morning coffee, 10 push-ups while naming body parts in French.

  • Week 2: After morning coffee, 15 push-ups while naming body parts in French.

  • Week 3: After morning coffee, 20 push-ups while naming body parts in French.

  • The Cognitive Increase: Increase the cognitive or physical challenge monthly.

  • Month 1: During lunch, write one sentence about travels

  • Month 2: During lunch, write one sentence about travels using new vocabulary

  • Month 3: During lunch, write one sentence about travels using new vocabulary in past tense

I realised progressive stacking wasn't just building habits; it was creating a system that prevented plateaus and helped to track my growth.

You fail to build and pick up new habits because you expect it to stick straight away. Just like motivation, the ability to want to do something can fade all because your not feeling it or because the results take longer than you expect.

When my language practice consistently grew more challenging at manageable intervals, I never hit the motivation wall that previously derailed my progress.

Progressive stacking combines the multi-passionate element to create a structured channel for the natural desire for variety and growth across multiple domains.

Rather than diluting focus and abandoning one passion for another when boredom hit, the built-in progression kept each area fresh and engaging within an integrated system.

You like Warhammer? Track your attention to detail.

You want to start crocheting? Start crafting a small rose then level up to a sweater.

Wanna run to marathon? Start with a 1k and then progress to the 5k.

The bottom line

Bad habits are easy to implement because they usually make us feel comfortable, but when it’s habits that usually help us grow or add value to our lives, it takes some time to get used to.

It’s all about rewiring your brain pattern, and that’s what the habit stacking methodology is all about. Start small, repeat and build onto it so it becomes automatic.

Your challenge for this week: You might have tried to pick up a habit, but maybe you approached it thinking it’d be easy. Maybe you lasted three days before disregarding it. Think about it in it’s simplest form:

  • Whats an interest or habit you want to pick up?

  • Before diving in, plan how you’re going to fit it in.

  • Once you’ve figured out the ‘when’, figure out the ‘how’ and start small

  • The key is remembering, so once it becomes second nature, try to apply the same approach with another habit or interest (double stack).

It takes time to get accustomed to implementing a habit. It took me ages to refine and finally get into a rhythm. That’s why I want you to start at the absolute base level before jumping onto the next stacks.

Get rid of the doubts because all it takes is some changes and sacrifice.

You can give up watching Love Island recaps in the morning while getting ready.

Cut that gaming session short and do something that will help you grow.

No one else is here to make you accountable. Good habits cannot be passed on so it’s up to you to make the change.

Till next time, peace.
