Too Small To Make Changes?
It's still progress even if its a little...
Let’s talk about it.
A short one while I’m touring like Dora.
When you're juggling multiple passions like I am, it's easy to feel like you're making microscopic progress in each area.
Those quick language practice sessions or quick workouts can seem pointless when measured against your ambitious vision.
This is exactly where I was stuck until I developed what I call the 1% Compound Growth Calculator.
When I talk about the '1% better everyday' it seems almost miniscule.
Too small to even make significant changes right?
But it took me a while to realise that the gap between where you are and where you want to be isn't nearly as important as the direction and consistency of your tiny habits.
Let me show you what happens when you improve just 1% in any passion area daily (and yes, that tiny vocabulary practice or those five extra seconds in a plank position absolutely count):
1.01^365 = 37.8
That's not 365% growth. That's 3,778% growth over a year.
Skipping those small actions doesn't just pause growth; it creates a compounding decline that's hard to reverse.
When I couldn't fit in a full session during a hectic week, I stopped abandoning it completely.
Instead, I looked at my calculator and reminded myself that even a 0.1% improvement was better than nothing.
The days where I wasn't feeling it, I thought doing something is better than doing nothing.
5 words added to my flashcard app
10 pushups if I couldnt make it to the gym.
10 minute walk if I was injured from football
Writing a one liner for threads or a paragraph for my newsletter.
As a multi-passionate, this calculator becomes even more powerful when you realize that 1% improvement in one passion often creates unexpected growth in others.
My consistent micro-practices in language learning mysteriously improved my writing rhythm.
My fitness discipline enhanced my focus for creative work.
Don't sleep on the little steps, it's still more done than nothing at all!

The bottom line
I’m all about building and leading by example.
The little things I do daily during my 9-5 days and travelling are aimed about becoming 1% better daily.
Sometimes it’s a crazy amount of effort and sometimes it’s so small, but the needle still stays moving like I’m coasting.
Your challenge for this week: No challenge, but identify a time when you weren't/aren't feeling it. What can you do as a minimum to push through and still maintain progress?
Even if it’s quick research, a short post or a quick session, it’s the things that have to be done.
I say this as a reminder to myself as I’m in my 4th day touring Japan. It’s getting hard with 15-hour days on the go, but that’s why I’m staying ahead by releasing this letter and aiming to stay slightly prepared with content.
If you’re still in the same routine, what are you waiting for?
